YOUVE GOT STRESS @ PAIN.COM

And now a word or two on stress, an ever-so-timely topic in these high-tech days and the get-it-done-yesterday mentality that pervades them. I’ve begun to see more and more patients with stress-related pain. But while the pain is real, it isn’t always neurologically induced. Although exercise is the best way to reduce the physical reaction to emotional stress, please be careful. During times of extreme stress, do not decide to add 50 lbs. to your workout or increase speed, distance or repetitions. You’ll only trade emotional stress for the physical variety, which leaves you with very little net gain. Make sure you keep your goals at a normal (or even below normal) level to feel more clearheaded and relaxed.
