As the weather changes from summer to fall to winter, you may experience post-exercise spasms or cramps as your exercise activities all head indoors. After your workout and your shower, an additional cool down period is necessary to prevent spasms before you leave the friendly confines of the gym for the harsh weather outside. Your body temperature is still adjusting, and you may have the tendency to begin sweating again after showering and dressing. Take the time to rehydrate with a bottle of water just before you leave. Sit or stand for about five minutes and drink the water. You will stabilize before going outside and reduce the frequency of spasms.
