One of the most stubborn injuries to resolve is tendonitis, which is common to the shoulder but possible in any joint (due to overuse or repetitive actions). If the condition becomes severe or takes a prolonged time to heal, the cause of increased healing time may be from nutritional factors, not physical trauma.
Tendonitis is a minor tear injury that heals with either scar tissue or calcium. Should your body choose to heal with calcium, the healing process will be compromised with the pain of calcific tendonitis. In addition to being hard and tearing at the tendon from within, calcium takes up space that creates friction with motion and results in pain. Also, if your system is too alkaline, your body will hold even more calcium. Not a good thing.
How to reduce the pain and slowly reduce your alkalinity? Limit the intake of calcium and minerals at the time of active symptoms. This means, for once, limiting the intake of raw vegetables and fruits, and eating only small amount of these foods cooked. A diet heavy in raw veggies will increase your alkalinity. Sometimes being overzealous with the juicer can create this chemical state. Supplements are available, but I recommend an evaluation should your tendonitis linger. We can be specific for your injury and your nutritional needs.
