Outdoor activity far better than indoor training

TIME TO GET OUTDOORS

It is the season to plan outdoor time.  However, do not make the planning the stumbling block to getting outdoors.  Many times your activity requires a partner, or foursome and if someone needs to bail out your time is cancelled.  Hiking is something you can do as long as you have good shoes and are willing to make the time.

Hiking can be around the reservoir or up a mountain.  In the northeast and certainly in the New York area there are many trail maps available online to guide your hike.  I can suggest “All Trail” app.  I have been using it to choose routes and hikes.  Clear and very good explanation as to difficulty and elevation of trails.

There are differences between walking for exercise and walking to get from A to B.  The ability to not carry a briefcase, wearing proper shoes, mental health of the outdoors.  The sounds, the air and the views all worth the physical work.
