End Your Dependence on Dr Google

It seems more often, patients arrive with diagnosed conditions via Dr Google.  That means that they surf the internet, matching their symptoms to various conditions and allow the most popular condition to win.  This is not a great strategy and often leads to missed sleep due to unnecessary worry.

The other day I spoke with an employee of a local gas station and he reminded me that he had told me a while back that he would have to replace the engine in his car.  He had asked various “experts” none of which were an expert of his car model and year.  When he did, he needed to replace the spark plugs and all is now running well.  Much easier that engine replacement.

The same can be said about consults with Dr Google.  There is rarely anything positive written about symptoms on the internet and of course there is no correlation to you and your health history.  Only your doctor or a doctor that you physically visit can make the diagnosis and then give you options for treatment.

Please do not substitute your doctor or a doctor visit with a Dr Google search.  You will sleep better and your health will be much better served.
