It is the time of year for allergies and colds to begin their way into our daily lives. A frequent patient history includes " I just sneezed and my back went out." Here is a method to avoid this problem. Simply---bend your knees whenever you are about to sneeze or cough. The bend in the knees opens internal space in your spine and allows your back to accept the force of the sneeze without setting off the back spasms. Nothing is 100% but this one pretty close.
